ADAM O. LARKIN CHARGED WITH FELONY MURDER

Taney County Prosecuting Attorney, Jeffrey M. Merrell announced today that ADAM O. LARKIN has been charged with the class A felony of murder in the second degree for the death of KEITH PECKINPAUGH on August 21, 2006. ADAM O. LARKIN has also been charged with the class B felony of distribution of a controlled substance as a prior and persistent felony offender. The complaint filed today in the Taney County Associate Circuit Court alleges that KEITH PECKINPAUGH died of an apparent overdose from methamphetamine distributed to him by ADAM O. LARKIN. The Taney County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has requested a $250,000 bond in connection with this incident.
In support of this complaint, Taney County Prosecuting Attorney, Jeffrey M. Merrell stated, “(i)f you come to Taney County to deal drugs, and it directly results in someone’s death, you will be charged with felony murder. Drug dealing cannot be tolerated in our community.”
Please be advised that the charges filed against the defendants are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven
guilty.
