Taney County Prosecuting Attorney, Jeffrey M. Merrell announced today that GERALD L. CHAMBERLAIN, DOB: 7/3/1949 of Blue Eye, Missouri has been charged with one count of the class C felony of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of the class C felony of assault in the second degree. These charges arise from a April 23, 2007 incident on Missouri 86, where it is alleged GERALD L. CHAMBERLAIN crossed the road into oncoming traffic causing an accident. MARY K. FLANIGAN, DOB: 10/8/53 of Hollister, Missouri, a passenger in the car of GERALD L. CHAMBERLAIN, was killed in the accident, and the two occupants of the other vehicle were injured. When they responded to the scene of the accident, law enforcement officials from the Missouri State Highway Patrol stated they observed a strong odor of intoxicants coming from GERALD L. CHAMBERLAIN, and discovered broken beer bottles inside his vehicle. Taney County Prosecuting Attorney, Jeffrey M. Merrell has requested a $40,000 bond in connection with the filing of these charges.
