On Thursday August 30th, Chad B. Nevels dob 1/23/1983 of Springfield, Missouri entered a stand-up plea to one count of the class C felony of statutory rape in the second degree and one county of the class C felony of statutory sodomy in the second degree in the Circuit Court of Christian County, Missouri. The case, which was set for trial on August 30th, was moved in March of this year to Christan County from Taney County on a change of venue motion.

While working as an employee at the day care provider, Chad B. Nevels engaged in sexual acts and deviate sexual intercourse with a fourteen (14) year old who was at the daycare.
By entering a stand-up or open plea, Chad B. Nevels faces the maximum range of punishment of up to 7 years imprisonment and/or a $5,000 fine for each of the two counts. Sentencing is set for October 25, 2007 at 3:30 in front of Associate Circuit Judge John Waters in Ozark, Missouri.
