Taney County Prosecuting Attorney, Jeffrey M. Merrell announced today that WESLEY D. OZBIRN, dob: 03/30/1988 of Rockaway Beach, Missouri was sentenced last Thursday to eight (8) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for the offense of attempted robbery in the first degree. On February 17, 2007 WESLEY OZBIRN threatened a young woman and her three-year-old child with a knife and demanded her purse at the Branson Meadows Cinemas.

WESLEY D. OZBIRN was also sentenced to five (5) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for the offense of attempted robbery in the second degree. On February 17, 2007, WESLEY D. OZBIRN threatened a woman with a knife at the Branson Landing and demanded her purse.

In addition, WESLEY D. OZBIRN entered a plea and was sentenced to four (4) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for the class C felony of burglary in the second degree. On January 5 WESLEY D. OZBIRN entered the Brown Dog Warehouse in Rockaway Beach by breaking out the front glass door with a rock. While inside the business WESLEY D. OZBIRN stole smoking paraphernalia and adult movies.

All three sentences are to run concurrent and probation is denied.
