On Saturday, October 20, 2012, over 120 people gathered at the Branson Airport, in Hollister, to run and walk a 5k race in support of CAPE Foundation, Inc. About 140 paid participants helped support the efforts of CAPE Foundation, Inc., ensuring a resource exists for children recovering from abuse to receive counseling – even if their families are unable to afford it.

“There were lots of participants in superhero costumes, and it was a fun, family-friendly atmosphere,” says Taney County Prosecutor Jeff Merrell about the 5k event. “Branson Airport was a great host again this year, and air traffic was shut down so our 5k could happen right on the runway.” Every participant who was present after the race was entered into a raffle. Several prizes were awarded, and one lucky person won the drawing for 2 round-trip tickets to fly from Branson Airport.

“We at CAPE Foundation could not be happier with how the event went, or with how supportive our many sponsors were again this year.” The third-annual CAPE Foundation 5k will be held on October 19, 2013.
