NATHAN C. BROOKS, (d.o.b. 5/22/1989), of Merriam Woods, Missouri, entered a guilty plea on Thursday, February 28, 2013, before Taney County Circuit Court Judge Mark Orr to the charge of class C felony domestic assault in the second degree. Orr scheduled sentencing for May 16, 2013. Brooks has no plea agreement with the State as to what sentence he is to receive.

At the time of his guilty plea, Brooks admitted that on September 5, 2012, he struck his girlfriend in the head with his fist several times, causing a noticeable knot on her head. Brooks also admitted that – on that same date – he threatened to kill his girlfriend and lit a plastic bag on fire and threw it on her, before she was finally able to escape the residence.

Domestic assault in the second degree is a class C felony, which carries a maximum sentence of seven (7) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections and/or a fine of up to $5,000.00.
