From July 24, 2012, through March 23, 2013, a grand jury was empanelled in Taney County, Missouri. It was the first time in over a decade that Taney County had utilized the services of a grand jury.
During the eight (8) months the grand jurors served, twenty-four (24) indictments were handed-down, while one (1) case was rejected for a lack of probable cause. In addition, during its term, the grand jury toured several of Taney County’s facilities. The approximate cost of the grand jury was $12,234.21 – which represents money paid out by the Taney County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office and the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office.
