Taney County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey M. Merrell announced that Thursday, September 5, 2013, MICHAEL A. ALEXANDER, d/o/b: 10-17-1981, of Branson, was sentenced by Taney County Circuit Court Judge Mark Orr to two (2) years in prison for the class D felony of aggravated stalking. The sentence was the result of a plea agreement Alexander had made with the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office.
The felony charge stemmed from an incident in Branson, on the late evening of October 8, 2012, into the early morning hours of October 9, 2012. Alexander’s ex-girlfriend and three (3) other witnesses called the Branson Police because Alexander was outside their house, banging on the door, and yelling threats to shoot and kill them. The investigation conducted by police revealed that Alexander had altercations with his ex-girlfriend at multiple bars earlier that night. Alexander also went to his ex-girlfriend’s mother’s house before tracking the victim down at the residence where he threatened to kill her.
The class D felony of domestic aggravated stalking carries a maximum sentence of not more than four (4) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections and/or a fine of up to $5,000.00.
