Taney County Prosecuting Attorney, Jeffrey M. Merrell announced today that EVA SILVA, dob: 12/02/1962 plead guilty on Wednesday June 18, 2008, in front of Taney County Circuit Judge Mark Orr, to the class A felony of assault in the first degree and the unclassified felony of armed criminal action. EVA SILVA received a ten (10) year sentence on the assault in the first degree charge and three (3) year sentence on the armed criminal action. Both counts are to run concurrent and probation was denied.

On January 29, 2007 officers from the Branson Police Department responded to a residence at 221 West Maddux. At this location officers found the defendant, EVA SILVA and another woman with gunshot wounds. Near the two women was a .38 caliber handgun. Through evidence collection and investigation detectives with the Branson Police Department concluded that the .38 caliber handgun had been used by EVA SILVA. EVA SILVA shot at the other female three times hitting her twice, once in the face and once in the chest. EVA SILVA then turned the gun on herself and shot herself in the chest.
