Taney County Prosecuting Attorney, Jeffrey M. Merrell announced today that CLINTON BRANNAN, dob: 11/24/1978, of Kirbyville, Missouri pled guilty without a plea agreement on February 18, 2009 in front on Taney County Circuit Judge Mark Orr to the class A felony of domestic assault in the first degree. Formal sentencing in the matter is set for April 16, 2009 at 10:00 am.
On December 11, 2007, Rockaway Beach police responded to 114 Fernvale Street regarding an assault. The suspect, CLINTON BRANNAN, fled the scene in a black Chevrolet pickup and was stopped by a Rockaway Beach police officer. Brannon told the officer that he had just left 114 Fernvale Street. The officer noticed that CLINTON BRANNAN’S right hand was visibly swollen. BRANNAN had blood smears on his forehead above his eye and stated he did not know where the blood came from. BRANNAN stated his hand was swollen from hitting a wall. Taney County deputies were on location at 114 Fernvale with the victim who had injuries to her face. A Taney County deputy stated that the victim had a knot on the side of her face. The Rockaway Beach police officer noticed that her right cheek was visibly swollen and she had black areas under both of her eyes. The victim’s juvenile daughter was asleep on the couch and woke up to see CLINTON BRANNAN hitting her mom. When questioned by Rockaway Police regarding the incident, CLINTON BRANNAN admitted that he hit his girlfriend. Following the incident, the victim reported that she had suffered a fractured nose, a concussion and multiple bruises as a result of the assault.
