Taney County Prosecuting Attorney, Jeffrey M. Merrell announced today that DAVID E. BLACKMORE, dob: 4/11/1966 of Branson, Missouri was sentenced yesterday to five (5) years for the class C felony of receiving stolen property and five (5) years for the class C felony of tampering in the first degree, both counts to run consecutive to one another resulting in a ten (10) year sentence. Probation was denied.
On July 24, 2008, a Taney County Sheriff’s Investigator developed David Blackmore as a suspect with regards to stolen firearms out of Newton County, Missouri. Deputies recovered two stolen firearms from a residence DAVID BLACKMORE was observed leaving from in a white pickup truck bearing California license plates. Contact was later made with DAVID BLACKMORE at a hotel he was residing at in Branson. During that contact, a Winchester 20 gauge shotgun was recovered from David Blackmore’s room. That gun was also reported stolen in the Newton County theft. The Taney County Sherriff’s Department also learned during their investigation that the white pickup truck driven by DAVID BLACKMORE was stolen out of Modesto, California.
DAVID BLACKMORE still has charges pending with the Taney County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for the two (2) counts of class A felony of robbery in the first degree, one (1) count of the class B felony of burglary in the first degree, two (2) counts of the class C felony of felonious restraint, and two (2) counts of unclassified felony of armed criminal action. He is set for trial on those charges on March 15, 2010. Please be advised that the charges filed against DAVID BLACKMORE are merely accusations and DAVID BLACMORE is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
