MARK ALLEN CRAIG, d/o/b 3-30-1980, of Forsyth, pled guilty Thursday, March 7, 2013, and was sentenced to prison for two (2) instances of domestic assault. Per a plea agreement entered with the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office, Craig entered guilty pleas to two (2) counts of class C felony domestic assault in the second degree, and one (1) count of the class D felony resisting arrest. Circuit Court Judge Mark Orr sentenced Craig to the maximum sentence of seven (7) years in prison for each of the domestic assaults, and to the maximum sentence of four (4) years in prison for resisting arrest. Each of those sentences will run concurrently with one another.
The charges were the result of Craig assaulting his girlfriend on May 12, 2012, and again on August 30, 2012. After being beaten on August 30th, Craig’s girlfriend was able to escape through a bedroom window. When Taney County deputies and Forsyth Police officers arrived, Craig fled on foot.
