On Thursday, July 11, 2013, in the Circuit Court of Taney County, JONAH M. VERGE, d/o/b 9-14-1984, of Branson, was sentenced to five (5) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for felony receiving stolen property. Circuit Court Judge Mark Orr sentenced Verge pursuant to a plea agreement between Verge and the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office.
On February 21, 2013, Taney County Sheriff’s Deputies were investigating a series of car break-ins in the Branson and Bull Creek area, and developed a male suspect in a blue car as a possible suspect. Forsyth Police stopped a pair of men in a blue Oldsmobile that same night, matching the description of the possible suspect. Upon searching the blue Oldsmobile, deputies discovered items that had been stolen from the vehicles around Branson and Bull Creek. Verge and his brother were the occupants of the blue Oldsmobile in possession of the stolen items.
Receiving Stolen Property is a class C felony, which carries a maximum sentence of seven (7) years in prison and/or a fine of not more than $5,000.00.
