On Thursday, May 15, 2014, in the Circuit Court of Taney County, IAN A. CRANMER, d/o/b 4-25-1984, of Hollister, entered a plea of guilty to the felony of burglary in the first degree. Cranmer was sentenced by Associate Circuit Court Judge Tony Williams to seven (7) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for the class B felony of burglary in the first degree, pursuant to a plea agreement with the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office.
In the early morning hours of December 19, 2013, Cranmer and another male entered a home in Hollister through an open garage door. Once inside the residence, Cranmer and his accomplice stole a wallet and purse from just inside the interior door to the residence. This illegal entry and theft occurred while the homeowners were sleeping inside the residence, making the crime burglary in the first degree. Burglary in the first degree is a class B felony, which carries a range of punishment of five (5) to fifteen (15) years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Several other felony counts against Cranmer were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. Cranmer did not have any prior felony convictions.
