Melinda Burkhart, Office Manager / Legal Assistant

Melinda has been employed with the Taney County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office since February 2002.  She has handled a variety of duties during this time.  Her current position is Legal Assistant.  Melinda is responsible for inputting referral information, and managing office evidence regarding murder charges, all alcohol related offenses, domestic assaults, assaults, serious traffic offenses and crimes against persons.  Melinda handles these cases from the time the charges are received in the office until the disposition of the case. She also helps by preparing various legal documents and obtaining additional information from law enforcement and other agencies. Melinda serves as a system administrator for Karpel, the case management system in the office.  Melinda has completed her MULES (Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System) certification through the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Debbi Stifler, Assistant Office Manager / Legal Assistant

Debbi has been employed with the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office since October 2002. Debbi is responsible for inputting referral information and filing initial charging paperwork with the court. Debbi handles these cases from the time the charges are received in the office until the disposition of the case. She also helps by preparing various legal documents and obtaining additional information from law enforcement and other agencies. Debbi is the T.A.C. (Terminal Agency Coordinator) for MULES (Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System) and is MULES certified through the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Debbi also assists the Office Manager in training new employees and answers various questions from support staff and APAs.

Julie Rivere, Front Desk Receptionist / Clerk

Julie joined our office in August 2019. She is responsible for coordinating discovery for defense counsel, correspondence, and the office phones.

Julie Campbell, Victim / Witness Advocate 

Julie joined our office as the Victim/Witness Advocate in September 2015. She is here to provide the help and support you need as the victim or witness to a crime. She understands that being a victim or witness to a crime can be a trying experience and she wants you to know that you are important to our office. Her purpose is to assist and inform you, so you will have a better understanding of the criminal justice system and the role that you will play in bringing individual(s) to justice.

Amy Saxton, Legal Assistant / Assistant Victim/Witness Advocate

Amy joined our office is September 2015. She is responsible for providing help and support to victims of domestic violence. She helps assist with ex parte information, applications, and the court process along with being a liaison with the women’s crisis center and providing information and support through the court process. She is also a legal assistant responsible for inputting referral information and being responsible for evidence in all domestic violence cases along and sexual assault cases. Amy has completed MULES (Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System) certification through the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Taylor Robertson, Bad Checks

Taylor joined our office in 2018. Her primary responsibilities are the filing of misdemeanor and felony charges along with merchant payment distribution, the input and tracking of all restitution claims after cases have been disposed, the disbursement of monthly checks to victims, and accounts receivable.

Lacey Moore, Traffic

Lacy joined our office in December 2018. She is responsible for discovery and all duties related to traffic offenses.
